Academics

The SECA academic program provides a rigorous, flexible, diverse, personalized learning experience for students in kindergarten through fifth grade based on the Georgia Standards of Excellence.

SECA students receive instruction from highly-qualified teachers and are challenged to learn at high levels through immersion in dynamic learning pathways including Project Based Learning, blended learning, and the arts.

“Tell me and I forget,
teach me and I remember,
involve me and I learn.”

This quote has been attributed to Benjamin Franklin. However, it is a rough translation of a Chinese proverb that states “Not having heard of it is not as good as having heard of it. Having heard of it is not as good as having seen it. Having seen it is not as good as knowing it. Knowing it is not as good as putting it into practice.”

With the continuation of the challenges from the pandemic and now the crushing supply chain issues, along with the ever-increasing cost of goods, the SECA Governing Board has made the very difficult decision to delay the school's opening until the 2023-2024 school year. The board feels that to put the school and scholars in the best position for long-term success they have to make the best possible financial choices they can. Please stay tuned as we will continue to keep you informed about our progress in the coming months.
